WOOL AND SHEEPSKINS.

HIGHER PRICES IN BRITAIN. Australian aud N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 10.5 p.m.) LONDON, May 1. At the Liverpool wool sales Merinos and fine crosabreds were 5 per cent, above raw at the London wool sales. Low crossbreed were unchanged, At the London sheepskin sales crossbreds and combing Merinos were 10 per cent, above the prices at the last allocition sale. Ail the Bradford quotations were higher.

FRUIT AND PRODUCE MARKET. Business in the fruit and produce mark-is has been fairly good during the week. Choice lines of dessert apples and pears are in good demand and selling well. Tomatoes are much scarcer. Lemons are in short supply. Smajl fruit is nearly finished. Island oranges and bananas have arrived from Rarotonga to a fairly good demand. Potatoes aro in better supply, and prices are easier. Onions are in good demand. Fresh eggs declined owing to large quantities offering. Farmers' butter is short in supply. Poultry there is an excellent demand for good birds.
