MAYOR AND "COUNCILLORS.

In the contest for the Mayoralty of Takapuna, tho sitting Mayor, Mr. W. Blomticld. won by a majority of 79 against ■Mr. J. Collinß, a former member of the Borough Council. There were 11 candidates fof the nine vacant scats on the council. Tho candidates included six members of the retiring council and five others, the whole of tho latter being returned. The following is the result of the voting:—

There were two candidates for the Mayoralty at Birkenhead. The retiring Mayor, Mr. J. P. McPhail, defeated the other candidate, Mr. Alfred Bartlett, by a majority of 202. Fifteen candidates went to the poll for the nino seats on the council. Following are. the details of the voting :—

There was no mayoral election necessary for the Borough of Otahuhu, Mr. A. McDonald, the retiring mayor, having been re-elected unopposed. For (he council there were nine candidates for eight seals. PUKEKOHE. SITTING MAYOR DEFEATED. At Pukekoho Mr. H. G. R. Mason, the retiring Mayor, who has held office for the past four years, was defeated by Mr. C. K. Lawrie. The voting was: — C. K.
