THE RUGBY GAME.

DECISIONS OF COMMITTEE.

The committee of , the Auckland Rugby Union met last evening. Mr. E. Joaes presiding over a full attendance. It was stated that a match with a Maori football team would be arranged for June 7, at Eden Park. A representative match, Thames v. Auckland, was arranged to be played at Thames on August 16. The Thames senior team is said to be excellent. The committee passed a note of appreciation to Mr. F. J. Ohleon for his services as chairman of the committee. The following sub-committees were elected:—Match Committee, Messrs Hintoa and Nicholson: Ground Committee, Messrs. Twinarae. fiayson and Clay; Advertising Committee. Messrs. Jones and Conyngham; Emergency Committee, Messrs. Hinton, McElwain and Clay.

DRAW FOR PRACTICE GAMES. The draw for practice games to be played on Saturday is: — Senior Grade.—Grammar 0.8. v. Grammar School, Parnell v. Newton. Marist Brothers 0.8. v, Grafton, University v. College Rifles. Second Grammar 0.8. v. Grammar School University v. College Rifles. Third Grammar 0.8 v. Grammar 0.8. 4ths.

REFEREES' ASSOCIATIONS. The annual meeting _ of tie Auckland Rugby Referees' Association was held last evening in the Sports Club. Mr, A. Wetherilt presiding. The balance-sheet Bhowed the association to be in a satisfactory financial condition. The annual report made reference to the late Mr. K. Wilson, who was killed in action, and Messrs, J, Katterns end Greis were welcomed back from active service. Thirty-six matches on twelve Saturdays had been referoed by one man, being a creditable performance. Several new members were elected,. Discussion on the grading system was postponed The election of officers resulted: — President. Mr. A. E. Wetherilt; vicepresident) to N.Z. Association. Mr. A. E. Wetherilt; vice-president, Mr. J. DECISIONS OP COMMITTEE.

The executive of the Auckland Busby League met in the league rooms last evening, Mr v E. Stailworthy presiding. It was decided to caution two players for fighting in a recent practice match, Mr. J. Kndoan saying that the League this season would treat offenders against the honour of the coda very Boverely A communication was received from the Richmond Hovers Club stating that the club possessed a credit balance of £20 Is Gd. The club asked that the N.Z. League Medallion should be conferred upon Mr. B. Davis, the secretary of the club. The league decided to recommend Mr. Davis, considering that both junior and senior players had equal right to the medallion. Permission to use the league's training shed one night a week, for training purposes, was granted the Northcoto Ramblers Club

It was stated that the Eden Ramblers Club had been disbanded, and its withdrawal was received with general regret by members of the executive. Permission was granted the Newton senior team to wear yellow and black jerseys in place of red and white, as the latter were not obtainable. An offer by the Maritime Club, to supply four men each week to help keep the playing grounds free of spectators, was accepted. The first senior matches will be played on Saturday.

OTAHUEU CLUB. The Otahuhu senior team for Saturday's matches will be picked from the following: Nightingale. R. Keenan, G. Martin, W. Glynn, W. Cloke, J. Keenan, Hyland, J. Robinson, J. Davis, Cole, A. Brown, J. Jeflenes. B. Rau. Page, Wells, King, Ryan. W. Ran. Greevenun.
