POLLING ON THE RARANGA.
CONTINUANCE SUPPORTED.
MAJORITY INCREASED TO 7230.
The majority for continuance of 7230 votes has been reached as the result of returns received yesterday. These include the result of the poll from the troopship Raranga, details of which are :— For Continuance .. .. 843 For Prohibition .. ». 136 Majority for Continuance .. 707 With the corrected return for Waikato, the state of the poll is as follows :— CIVILIAN VATE. For OonCniance.. .. 281,040 For Prohibition .. .. 244,093 Majesty for Prohibition 13,053 SOLDIERS' VOTE. For Continuance.. .. 27,132 For Prohibition .. . . 6,849 Majority for Continuance 20,283 TOTAL CIVILIAN AND SOLDIERS'VOTES For Continuance.. . „ 258172 For Prohibition .. .. 250,942 Majority for Continuance 7,230 The official return for the Waikato district is as follows:—Continuance 3309, prohibition 4418: majority for prohibition, 1109. On the first count a majority of 1017 for prohibition «as shown.
