HOSKING eeeks m" election. Vote for the man who w*j serve you well. TO THE. RESIDENTS AND RATEPAYERS OF TAKAPCNA. ) In again seeking you? kind vote and interest at tho forthcoming Mayoral Election, I wish to thank yon for the many kind and , complinn-ntary remarks that nave becu ■ JE*do about the existing administration. T(i<s large* number of improvements and new works that have been undertaken during my five mots of office have boon carried through by an enthus'astic and progressive Council without imposing extra rates. A policy of more extended improvements hat been mapped out. and if I am elected. spd tho policy is approved by the now 1 Council. th ! policy will be carried out under* my direction with economy and efficiency, . Amongst the most important of these suggested improvement? are: . (I) The auauisition of tho Takapuna tramways, after expert valuation j and investigation; a practical I financial scheme for purchase to be placed before the ratepayers for their approval at an early date. (2) Now that tho war is ended immediate activ.ty in carrying out tho suggested drainage scheme, a work of magnitude and importance. (8) Authority by the ratepayers of Takapuna to borrow the requisite £50,000 for tho compijtion of streets, roods, and storm drainage in tho Borough, in such sums as may from time to time be required for progress work. j (t) A poll of ratepayers to authorise a j loan fbr beach and other necessary improvements. Takapuna is the most beautiful marine suburb oc.l resort in the world. Wo all share its beauty. Let us advance its utilities. This can be done by the aid of a progressive, enthusiastic, and expert Council. Should you attain show rour confidence in me, I ihall endeavour to do ray utmost to ' deserve it, and to further your interests. 1 WILLIAM BLOMFIELD. I i I strongly support roadinc of a permanent iriatiiro, patchwork being largely a waste of , ! public money. Mr. Gjinson promised a Bridge ' connecting Kingsiand and Grey , Lynn, tow a great necessity, I yreatly favour the schomo for an outlet from Palteeon Street to Howe Street and Crummor Road. In my opinion it would be invaluablo, and its cost would bo very small. Tho City should buy all property round the propored now Nanier Street School to 'wild people's up-to-date tenements Many alterations ar? urgently needed in Parnell, ogrvci&lly in the lower part- Tho Education Board and the Council should devise some scheme to shift the present public school and make drastio alterations. My opinion is that the City is 20 years behind lie times. Therefore I would rapryirt a fierce pe'icy. lam opposed to the Bylaw prohibiting the keeping of a few poultry in places where saa'tsry conditions can be observed in spirit. The whole of the Bv-lawS should bo ren>cd. Yours faithfully. J\M*'S .TOILER. AUCKLAND HOSPITAL AND CHARIT- ■** ABLE AID BOARD ELECTION. TO THE ELECTORS OF GREATER AUCKLAND. M R.
