Weather conditions for the Easter holidays • were anyihing hut ia\al, a_cold wind, with occasional showers, prevailing over me Wur 'days. j Most of the 'boats got away from the I 'Wharves early on Thursday evening, and the ' 'red and green side-agbts of tho boats cou.d ' 'be seen making down the harbour to some •plsajure resort oat in the gull. Although the holiday this year was much ' 'later than usual, the boats went U: aneid. Thames, Paoroa, Coromaudel, Arkie's day, ' and Waiheke all had their quota, while Mansion House Bay, liawau, -had a large fleet at anchor On Good b'riday morn.aj. a lew boats went as far as the Great barrier, and the yachts, favoured by the Hood winds, made some quick passages to their destinations. Altogether tho yachtsmen made the most of the conditions, and describe tho Easter cruiite of 1919 as one of the best. A number of the fortunate ones got lb an ■exti* day or. two, and did not come back Until Tuosday and Wednesday. With the exception of three functions still to be held, Easter ended tho yachting season of 1918-19. and yaphtsmen arc waiting only for the aquatic display in connection with Peace celcorations before hauling up thoir boats. Tile Pamsoffiby Cruising Club has received I good entries for its harbour races to be held this afternoon. The races are the ficalfiiture, and with them concludes the competition for the Kchn Cup. The Power-boat Association will hold its -final cruise next Saturday, and entries close for the nKLean- -and Burt Cups on Wednesday 'April 80,, Both races will bo general hand - i caps,, with the handicaps given to lbs ' launches at the s>art of the race, but in 1 1 the Kean Cdp the boats must be steered by I a -member of the association, while in the I Bflit'Oup'theboat*must bostcerod by a lady , The course will bo over the association fourknot harbour course, and provision has bwn I made to finish the races to allow all boats 1 1 'tonrrivo at their moorings before dark.
