INDIA GROWS QUIETER.
TRANQUILLITY IN LAHORE. RAILWAY TRAFFIC RESUMES. A and N.Z.-Renter. LONDON. April 24. j The Press Bureau reports that the j Viceroy, Lord Chelmsford, tele- ' graphed on April 20 stating "All is .quiet in Lahore., and a number'of ' people are coming in repentant. A mob to-day attacked the station at iNaiobi. In Bengal State the offences regulations have been ex- ' tended to the Cujarat district. Aryan and Mohammedan emissaries from Delhi are attempting to stir up trouble in the neighbouring districts of the Punjab. Tension is reported at Ferozepore and Multan. Railway communications have been restored. Mobile columns are making arrests in the north-west frontier ; provinces.
Nothing is reported from Delhi, (where the shops are open. All is quiet in the Bombay presidency. Two agitators distributing inflamimatory leaflets were arrested.
