SMALLPOX ON TRANSPORTS.
VACCINATION RELIED ON. LONDON, April 10. , Commenting on the cabled report from Melbourne that transports were bringing cases of smallpox, General Howse states that vaccination before departure was a fairly good safeguard to the men. A serious outbreak was most unlikely, but it was always possible that a few mild cases would develop after sailing. He was unaware of the current report that some soldiers landed at Port Said, disobeying orders.
