Walker, 1 examined the steamer Bessa, to-day, The i only damage found was on the port side 1 of No. 1 hold above the ballast tank. No water was in the other holds, A few plates were slightly dented, thirty rivets I were started, and several frames were i ' fractured. As a precautionary measure -* two divers have Btartpd to make an examination of the whole exterior of the hull. It is expected that temporary repairs will take about ton days. Tho Norwegian Conenl, Mr. A. W. , Newton, as chairman, Captain Petersen, of Wellington, Captain Lindberg, of tho barquo Titanic, and Captain Nysfcrom, of ' the ship Transocean, assessors, held a ] Consular Court Jo-day, and heard tho ,I evidence of the officers and, men on duty lat the tima of tho mishap. They also examined the log book, and checked tho ' ship's course. From the evidence adduced the Court , concluded the ship was outside Chaffer's 1 passage, and did not stop when the rock i was touched.
