ATTITUDE OF THE COUNCIL. The proposal that a recreation ground be formed at Stanley Bay was again before the De.voupori Borough Council last evening, a resolution adopted by the flt&nley Bay Ratepayers' Association being submitted to the fiflect that in view of the public hiding subscribed £400 for the reclamation acres for a recreation grounded that £100 more is needed to complete the work, on Account of increased cost .due. to war conditions, the council be requested to rescind the resolution '"low on the minute-book which prevents them contributing toward the reclamation. •

The resolution referred to, which was passed on October 23, 1917, stated that tho council agreed to give every facility to the Stanley Bay Ratepayers' Association to reclaim the area, but could not accept any financial responsibility unless sanctioned by the ratepayers.
