MEETING DOMINION NEEDS. STANDARDISATION NECESSARY. [BY telegraph.—press ASSCCUTIO.V ] WELLINGTON, Monday. At the C'oachbuildeis' Tcnfeience today, during a discussion on motor-build-ing, the opinion was expressed that without some measure of standardisation the trade would be unable to cope with the demand existing for motor bodies. Resolutions were passed as follows:— " That this association approach the Government in the matter of tariff requirements with a request that a duty of 20 per cent, be levied on the complete car and 5 per cent on the chassis;'' " that i>. dtitc of 50 per cent, be levied on completed motor-car bodies (or ' knockdown' bodies')."
