STANDARDISED BOOTS.
During the course of a meeting at Wellington between the representatives of the ] New Zealand Boot Manufacturers' Association and the Board of Trade it was stated that several boot retailers had placards in their windows indicating that "standardised boots" were on sale. The' object sought was, no doubt, to persuade the Sublic that thoy were Government Btanard boots. The facts, aro, however, that the boots which are now being offered to the public are not those which are to be issued under the auspices of the Board of Trade, for those boots are now in the process of manufacture, and are expected to be available shortly. They will all be stamped with a registered brand on the sole, together with the retail price, and will be guaranteed as to quality.
