CONTROL OF NAURU ISLAND
MANDATE DISCUSSED. United Service. PARIS, Mar. 17. The British delegations further discussed the Pacific Islands mandates question. There is a growing British feeling that Japan should be given a similar mandate in regard to the Marshall and Caroline Islands. Regarding Nauru Island, Australia has expressed her willingness to accept any form of mandate acceptable to Britain, but the Colonial Office wishes the mandates to remain in British hands.
