AKARANA CLUB'S. GALA. LADIES' CHAMPIONSHIP.» The Akarana Swimming Club's second gala of the season will be held in the Tepid Bath this evening, when,a lengthy and varied programme of swimming, divine, and novelty events will bo 'decided, with the 50yds ladies' championship as the chief attraction. The entrants for this event are:— Misset. Dorothy Familiar (100 yds New Zealand record holder). Lilian Hoeft (60yds New Zealand record holder). Violet Walrond (New Zealand • schoolgirl champion of 1918 and :i919), V. E. Biddick (Akarana lady champion' over lOOyds), and Evelyn M., 0. Ferguson (Akarana Ladies' Club captain). The first event to-night will .be the 50yds novice handicap, with the ladies' championship to follow. Music will be provided by an orchestra.
