HEALTH NOW SATISFACTORY.

ARRANGEMENTS FOR WELCOME.

The latest - information regarding the transport Port.Melbourne,- which is due-ait Auckland tomorrow morning with 1215 soldiers on board, is that tho health of the men is .satisfactory. When the ship reached Colon it was reported that 58 cases of influenza had occurred after the vessel left England. It is presumed that the men have now recovered. When the ship arrives she will bo placed in quarantine for 24 hours, so that, providing there is no sickness on board, the troops will be disembarked on Friday. - One of the features of tho welcome- to the men will be a special greeting, which, providing the weather conditions for flying are favourable, will be dropped on to. the deck of tho ship from one of the machines belonging to the New Zealand Flying School at Kohimarama. _ The message, which will be from the citizens of Auckland, will be' contained in a neat packet weighted with lead. The packet will have streamers of red, white, and blue ribbon. A wireless mei-eage will also be sent to the ship conveying the good wishes of the citizens, and extending an invitation to the Southern men ito a motor-car drive through the city and suburbs and to luncheon on tho day. they disembark. Every effort is being made by. the Auckland Women's Patriotic League to secure the assistance of the. business people of Auckland in giving a hearty welcome home to the troops. THE HORORATA'S DRAFT. The question is raised whether tie troops due at Wellington on March 13 by the steamer Hororata can be styled "Main Body" draft. It is pointed out, that there are at least 228 men bearing Rifle Brigade numbers and 1(17 men with strwghtout numbers. It is stated that the 1500 men on the Hororata sally represent the first draft of fit men of 1914-15, including a number of Main Body men.
