PUKEKAWA SUICIDE.
THE ADJOURNED INQUEST.
The adjourned inquest into the death of the boy, Charles W. Wright, who recently shot himself at Pukekawa., was held yesterday at the Pukekohe Courthouse before Mr. C. Roadly, district coroner.
Francis B. Carroll, a store employee, deposed to seeing a riderless horso when he this riding from Tuakau on the afternoon of Wednesday, February 19. About a quarter of a milo further oil he saw a. black hat on the road, and beyond it a. knife, a loaded cartridge, a billy-can, tin of salmon and a purse and pipe.
Frederick S. Shell, probation officer lo the Education Department, deposed that the deceased was charged in July, 1918. with a series of thefts from churches in the Epsom district. The case was adjourned for six months, the lad being placed under witness's charge meanwhile, and it, was not recalled, the conduct of the boy being satisfactory. Deceased never complained to witness and seemed to be happy. The inquest was further adjourned until to-morrow.
