NORTHERN CLUB.
RACE FROM TAUMARUNUI.
The Northern Racing Pigeon Club held its third race of the young bird series on Saturday last from Taumarunui, an airlino distance of approximately 143 miles to the winning members' lofts. The entries were good. The birds were liberated at Taumarunui at 12 o'clock by the stationmastor (Mr. GHarrison), who telegraphed that the weather was fine with a south-westorly wind. The birds got away together and were favoured with a good wind along tho line of flight. | Good time was made- The winning bird, Mr. J. J. Taylor's ''Cowsills Gift," arrived at his loft at 3.33 p.m.. having covered the distance in the good time of 3hrs 32m 495, and made an average velocity of 1180 yards a minute. ; The other birds homed close to the win- i net.
