ONEHUNGA BOROUGH.
DECISIONS OF THE COUNCIL.
The Onehunga Borough Council met last evening, the Mayor. Mr. J. Stoup. presidThe engineer submitted a plan of the drainage of the Royal Oak area, his estimate being *3500 These were approved, and the work is to be earned out The engineer also reported that ho had pre•oared a sewerage scheme for the Te Papapa district. The area to be drained is anproximately 250 acres, and consists of solid rock making the work very expensive. It was possible to drain the area to a septic tank in the Recreation Reserve, discharging into the Manukau Harbour. This could he connected to the existing 18m sewer in Alfred Street, therefore, he recommended tha'- scheme, which required the enlarging of the existing outfall tank. Approximately, the cost would be £19.900. The. report was referred to the council m committee. The scoutmaster of the Eden troop of boy scouts wrote asking for a subsidy to their funds. He referred, to the good work done by the scouts during the epidemic, and stated that the boys deserved every encouragement. The matter was referred to the council in committee. A complaint by Mr. T. H. Asche regarding fees charged .for medical attendance dnrine the epidemic, was referred to the counoil in .committee.
