ARMY VETERAN'S DEATH.

A veteran of the Indian Mutiny and « the Maori War, Mr. Thomas Mills, di« al the Auckland Hospital yes f erday, ait< a short illness. Mr. Mills, who was { years of age, was born in Manchester. I 1852 he joined the 70th Infantry Reg ment, and in the following year left ft India, where he participated in quellii: the Mutiny. Eight years later he arrive I in New Zealand with his regiment, an I fought in the Maori War. Hi was tt I bearer of the Indian Mutiny and the Ne 'Zealand War medals. Mr. Mills had r relatives in New Ze&land, and he, hit been at the Veterans' Home for sever; years. The funeral with military honou: wil' take place at Waikaraka cemetery i 3 p.m. to-day.
