AUCKLAND HORSE WINS HURDLE RACE. Australian and N-Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 5 5 p.m.) SYDNEY. Dee. 21. The A.J.C. Summer Meeting was held today at Sandwich. . The following wero the results of the leading events: — RANDWICK HURDLE RACE, two miles. —British Arch, by Marble Arch—Sawdust, 1; Lurabine, 2; Basil K, 3. Won by two lengths. Time, 3m 41s. VILLIERS STAKES, one milo.-Rebus ; (imp.), by Radium—Quibble, 9st 10lb, 1; Wedding Day, Bst 4lb, 2; Panacre, 9st 41b, 3. Won by two lengths. Time, lm 37$ The Yilliers Stakes produced an extraordinary event. Owing to confusion of the colours the judge placed Panacro third, whereas Sydney Damsel was actually third. Panacro was about fourteenth.. Tho mistako | was not noticed in timo to rectify it. Rebus's I time is a record for the race, and equalled the Australian mile record.
The success of British Arch at Randwick on Saturday last, was well anticipated by Aucklanders. Good accounts Have come to hand 'as to the manner in which ho was shaping in his training work.
