ONEHUNGA BOROUGH.

LOAN 'POLL POSTPONED.

A meeting of the Onehunga Borough Council was held last evening, the Mayor, Mr. J. StOßpe. presiding. v. Captain Crawford N.Z.M.0., was present, and reported on his efforts to combat the influenza epidemic in . the borough. He stated he arrived in Onehnnga on November 3, and up to last night had seen 602 persons, suffering from influenza. This was in addition to those attended by Dr. H. Thomas, tho resident doctor. Of the patients seen by Captain Crawford 17 had died in Onehunga and two in '.he District Hospital.: The number of new cases seen by Captain Crawford during the last four days :Friday 17, Saturday 14, Sunday 11, and Monday 7. He expressed his appreciation of the work done by the Mayor in combating the epidemic' The thanks of the council were accorded to Captain : Crawford for the valuable services to the residents in the borough, borough. ;;:•'■•■".'•"■. At the request of Dr. Frengley it was decided to postpone the taking of a poll of rntepapers on the proposal to borrow £35,000 for paving the main street, fixed for November 27.
