EFFORTS TO COUNTERACT FOREIGN COMPETITION. COMMISSIONER CONSULTING MANUFACTURERS. _. (Received 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 16. jm R, W. Dalton. Imperial Trade Commissioner in New Zealand, is touring the industrial districts and discussing with manufacturers the matter of immediate developments in exports. In an interview he stated that the strongest endeavours would be necessary to regain trade lost in New Zealand as a result of the war, as there would be increased foreign competition.
