FIRE AT NELSON.

JAW FACTORY PREMISES.

VALUABLE MACHINERY LOST. [BT TELEOIUIFH.—rEEBS ASSOCIATION.] NELSON, Wednesday. ! Early this morning a fire broke out in the pulp stores at Messrs. Kirkpatrick and Co.'s jam factory. Before it was extinguished the, pulp store, cask store, and main canning department were destroyed with their & intents, including valuable and at present irreplaceable machinery. Tho main factory was saved by the strenuous exertions of the firemen. The canning department will be idle during the coming season. Neither the estimates of the damage nor the insurances are available.
