GERMANY ATTEMPTING TO ORGANISE NEW GOVERNMENT
ESTABLISHMENT OF SOCIALIST REPUBLIC URGED. Australian iind N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON. Nov. 12.
A German official wireless message states: In response to an invitation to participate in the formation of a common Government, the Independent Social Democratic party proposed to have Dr. Liebknecht and Herr Barth as members, and also urged the establishment of a Socialist Republic. The Social Democratic party follows a similar aim, but asks the people and the Constituent Assembly to decide the matter. Moreover, with a view to maintaining food supplies, they oppose the Independent Socialists' demand for the exclusion of middle-class members from the Government, and consider both Socialist parties should co-operate until a meeting of the Constituent Assembly, to which all decisions should be relegated.
