WOOLGROWERS' COMMITTEE.

QUESTION OF REPRESENTATION.

The matter of the disposal of seedy wool was discussed by the Fanners' Union executive yesterday, when a report on the recent conference between the woolgrowers and tho Government valuers was submitted by, the chairman, Mr. J. Boddie. Mr. Boddie said the conference wa6 not open to the public, and little information regarding the proceedings was available. Tiie contention of the farmers that prices for seedy wool had dropped to a very low figure since the requisition of the wool by tho Imperial authorities he considered had beer, fully established, and it remained to ho seen what prices would be given during the coming season. Ho also referred to tho Woolgrowere' Committee, and urged tho necessity for an alteration in its personnel, • in order that it should bo thoroughly representative t of the woolgrowers of the whole province. Mr. A. A. Rose, one of the nominees of, the executive, stated 1 that 'he had resigned his position on the .committee. Ho fully agreed that better representation to woolgrowers should be provided. The chairman said the position was that the Government had. requested the Farmers'- Union and agricultural and pastoral associations to nominate the committee. The nomination of members to represent the agricultural and pastoral associations had been made by the Auckland association and representation for the whole province had.not been provided.' It was also stated that some of the members were not- woolgrowers. After considerable discussion it was decided to appoint Mr. S. 0. Jounneaux in, place of Mr. Ross,, and to recommend that at least two members should bo appointed to represent the Waikato. and King Country on the committee.
