It is'well known that the roasting of coffee berries results in the development of the exquisite flavour so much' appreI ciated by coffee-drinkers. ' But it is not 'so well known that our Now Zealand- | grown tobaccos, "Gold Pouch','' and j "Three Diamonds,"' are now subjected to the same roasting, or toasting, process, • and with the same result as in the case of the coffee berries. The flavour is brought fully out, while at the samo time any deleterious properties are destroyed. Smokers are unanimously in favour of the new departure, and proclaim toasted tobacco superior to any other. It is a healthier smoke, too— added moisture, sauce, or other .adulterations, which figure largely in the composition of foreign brands. Two full ounces for Is.
