MR. J. D. CAIRNS, GORE.

Mr. J. D. Cairns, editor of the Mataura Ensipn for the past 10 years, died unexpectedly this morning of pleurisy, supervening on influenza.
[Mr. Cairns was for some years on the staff of the New Zealand Herald, leaving Auckland in 1908 to take up the position he held at his death.]

WELLINGTON, Sunday. Mr. H. G. Price, formerly Commissioner of Crown Lands and Chief Surveyor for Marlborough, died yesterday morning.
