'accident near hawera.
NINE PEOPLE INJURED.
[BT TELECItAPII.— ASSOCIATION.] HAWERA, Sunday.
A serious accident occurred near Normanby dairy factory yesterday morning, when a motor party of nine people, who wero returning from Eltham to Hawera after a dance, wero thrown out owing to one of the tyres bursting. The occupants were thrown clear, but all were somewhat injured. Those brought to the Hawera Hospital fire Miss Ada Dunn, right collarbono broken; Miss Marion Dunn, both collarbones broken; Miss Turner, right foot injuries; Mr. J. Russell, driver of the car, injuries to face— was able to bo removed home after receiving attention; Mr, Whittaker, mostly head bruises. All these patients are doing as well as can be expected. Othors, who were taken to an hotel at Normanby, are:—Mias Madge Dunn, unconscious; Misses Walshe, O'Connor, and Tong, suffering from shock and bruises. i
