NEGOTIATIONS FOR PURCHASE.
> Negotiations for the purchaao of the current soasons output of butter and cheese in New Zealand, were still proceeding when Mr. Massey and Sir Joseph Ward left England. Mr. Massey stated yesterday that the matter was' in tho hands of the British Treasury, and that tho negotiations wero beisitf conducted through tho High Commissioner. Ho added that ho was confident that satisfactory prices would be obtained.
