TREATMENT OF PRISONERS.
WORK CLOSE TO LINES. LONDON, Sept. 11. The capture of Peronne revealed a German system of working prisoners close to the lines. A party of Australians taken prisoner at vwying periods, was employed in the town when the German officer galloped up and ordered everything movable to be packed up, as an attack was imminent. Indescribable confusion followed, in which eight Australians escaped, hid in the ruins, and made their way back and , joined the attackers. I
