A Palestine official report states: Our cavalry occupied Tiberias, ,on the western shore of Lake Tiberias—the Sea of Galilee—Sernakh, on the southern shore, arid Es Samra, on the south-eastern shore. These towns were occupied in spite of determined resistance. East of the River Jordan our cavalry occupied Amman, and is pursuing the Turks along the Hedjaz railway. Our casualties since September 18 are below one-tenth of the number of prisoners taken. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON, Sept. 26. The Turkish Fourth Army east of the Jordan is surrounded and in danger of annihilation. The British have occupied Tiberias, on the Lake of Galilee, and Semakh, the ancient Hippos, on the southern shore of the same lake. East of the Jordan they have captured the important railway junction of Amman, where the Es Salt railway joins the main line of the Hedjaz railway. The total British casualties in the new offensive in Palestine do not exceed 4000.
