Best, of Wellington, fj at the Royal Hotel, Mr. Arthur Holmes, of Wellington, Is at the Grand Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Acton-Adams, of Dunedin, are at the Grand Hotel. Colonel D. Cosgrove, Y.D., Dominion Chief Scout, left for the South last nigh* Mr. J. 0. Collins, secretary to the Board of Trade, left for the South last night. Sir Robert Stout, Chief Justice. arrived in Auckland on Saturday and left by the express last night. Major G. P. and Mrs. Baldwin are at the Central Hotel. Major Baldwin hag been appointed to the First Auckland Medical Board. Mr. C- J. Tunks, who has been attending a meeting of the Standing Committee of the General Synod at Wellington, returned to Auckland on Saturday. Rev. W. E. Gilkm, vicar of St. Matthew's Church, is seriously ill, and was admitted to a private hospital yesterday. An operation may possibly bo found necessary. Hon. E. W. Alison, M.L.0., president of the New Zealand Coal-ownen, Association, left for Wellington last night to attend the 'onference of mine owners and miners, which opens on Tuesday,
