The new War Revenue Bill, now before the Congress, provides for the raising of tho sum necessary to pay the United States war expenses during the coming year. ThV proportion raisable by taxes is fixed at one-third.
The Washington correspondent of the New York Times states that the United States war expenditure for the month of August totalled more than £1,760,000,000.
