SERIOUS MUTINY OF BAVARIANS OPPOSING BRITISH.
DIVISION WITHDRAWN AND SENT HOME UNDER GUARD
GENERAL SLOWING-DOWN POLICY IN MUNITION FACTORIES
Australian and N.Z.
(Received 5.5 p.m.)
LONDON. Sept. 6.
. The Rotterdam correspondent of the Daily • Telegraph states: Though stories of German demoralisation must be received cautiously, certain information is available which is beyond doubt. It appeal's that a Bavarian division on the Arras front recently became so rebellious that it was disarmed and entrained for Bavaria,, guarded by Prussians and there imprisoned. Several mutinies ot Silesian troops resulted in hundreds of executions. Desertions are increasing greatly. It is estimated that Berlin conceals 20,000 deserters.
- The go-slow policy is spreading in monition factories and has seriously decreased their output. Such a situation explains manifestoes like those of Hindenburg, and numerous other appeals to the nation's, waning war spirit.
