TRANSPORTING AMERICANS.
FRENCH ARRANGEMENTS. A. and N.Z. WASHINGTON. Aug. 11. General Pershing, Commander-in-Chief
of .the American Forces, states that the War Department of the French Government has adopted elaborate plans for the improvement of port facilities for handling the steadily increasing numbers of American troops arriving in Franco under the expanding war programme. Members of the Senate Military Committee were told by the War Department that the flow of Americans to France would be kept up to the average.
