THE ALLIES AND RUSSIA.
ARRIVAL AT ARCHANGEL.
FLIGHT OF BOLSHEVIKS.
IMPORTANT ADVANCE HINTED.
Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Bocd. 6.5 pjn.) 'WASHINGTON. Ans. 10.
The State Department has received an official account of the landing of allied troops at Archangel. Prior to their arrival allied aeroplanes circled the city and dropped pamphlets explaining allied propaganda. The Bolsheviks fled the city, many escaping in houseboats on the river. The British, French, and American Consuls were arrested- prior to t'io allied occupation of the city. Later .hey were released. The opinion is held that if the allied forces operating from Archangel continue their progress in the direction of Vologda, the entire northern territory, from Kola and Archangel to Vologda, will bo lost to the Bolsheviks- .
