A disturbance of a cyclonic character now rules over the Dominion, and the centre appears to be about tho West Coast of the South Island. Heavy rain has fallen in many parts, and there is considerable snow on some of flic higher levels in the South. Strong westerly winds rule in the North, but southerlies in tho Far South.

TO-DAY'S FORECAST. Present indications are for high west to south and south-easterly winds. The weather will bo gloomy with Heavy rain, and the rivers flooded in many parts, and,snow on tho higher levels, Tho barometer is due to rise soon fop a short time in. the South, but a further fall may bo anticipated to follow.
