MAORI FARMER EXEMPTED.
PROPERTY 'AT PffiOXGIA. Only one appeal came before the Maori Military Serv:ce Board yesterday. Mr. T. Pine, of the First, Auckland Board, acted in the stead of Mr. John Ormsbv, as tho appellant was a relative of the latter.
Ranpikaura Moirua, 24 years old, asked for exemption on tho ground of occupation. He was, he said, a farmer, and therefore in an essential industry. He had married since the outbreak "of the war. He held a farm of 500 acres near Pirongia. It was stated by appellant's advocate, Mr. Pepene Eketoni, that appellant's family was looking after several properties, and could not undertake charge of appellant's farm. Exemption sine die ,r :b granted, provided appellant lemains on his farm.
