TO-DAY'S CELEBRATIONS.
SUBURBAN PUBLIC MEETINGS. Public meetings will be held at Devonport, Newmarket, Mount Eden. Mount Albert. One-tree Hi!!, and Otahuhu this evening. The Empire retulutiou will be presented, and patriotic speeches will bo delivered. The Dovonport meeting will be held in Marine Square. '1 he Mayor, Mr. J. Henderson, will preside, and addresses will be given by Messrs. W. J Napier, W. Wallace, chairman of the Auckland Hospital Board, and F. J. W.; Whittaker. the Garrison Band will be in attendance. I
As part of the Auckland commemorations the Mayor and members of the City Council will this evening tender a complimentary dinner to the official representatives of the allied nations, as a mark ot the citizens' appreciation of the services their respective countries arc rendering to the allied cause. The Mayor has requested that citizens make a liberal display of bunting to-day in recogn.tion of the anniversary.
