FROZEN MEAT STORAGE.
ACTION IN SOUTH CANTERBURY. [by telegraph.— ASSOCIATION.] TIMAHU, Sunday. The question of providing additional storage for frozen meat in view of the acute shortage of shipping was discussed at a largely-attended meeting of wool growers and fat lamb raisers. yesterday. Mr. E. C. Studholme opened the discussion by making a proposal that the farmers interested should ask the Pareora works to provide additional storage, the farmers to find the money. If 80,000 lambs were provided for the cost would be only 2s a head, and this, he said, would be a moderate insurance against the cost of feeding through next' winter. After much discussion it was decided to ask the two companies to provide storage and to charge Is a head extra, which would cover the cost. This arrangement, it was felt, would place all farmers'on the one footing, whereas if farmers found the means directly only those who contributed would have a right to the space. A committee was set up to go into the matter further.
