MEETING OF CREDITORS.

RAWENE BAKER'S AFFAIRS. A MEETING of creditors in tho bankrupt estate of Frederick W. Kohn(Mr. Butler, baker of Rawene, was held at tho office of the official assignee, Mr, W. S. Fisher, yesterday afternoon. There were four creditors present. The debtor's schedule and statement were published in the Herald on Wednesday last. The bankrupt, under examination, stated that he took over the business in July, 1916, and had since spent about £145 in improvements. Ho had experienced some difficulty over money matters, as the result of giving a guarantee for a native storekeeper at Omanaia, and had obtained judgment against the native for ' £90. Of this Bum he had recovered £25 by the sale of stock. He considered that the balance was recoverable. He attributed his present position to a judgment obtained against him in May last in connection with a sheep-worrying case. The dog which worried tho sheep had frequented his store, and he was adjudged to be its owner, being ordered to pay £31 damages and £16 10s costs. He denied all liability in this matter, and was reluctant to pay, with the result that ho was threatened with a distress warrant. He therefore, decided to file to protect his creditors. After many minor matters had been discussed a committee, consisting of Messrs. A. J. Entrican and F. M. Winstone and the official assignee, was appointed, with full power to act in the matter of realising I on the assets.
