POLICE COURT NEWS.
SHORT LIST OF MINOR CASES. The theft of a wristlet watch, valued at 12s 6d, was admitted by a girl aged 17, in the Polico Court before Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., yesterday. Chief-Detective McMohon said that defendant went to a friend's house to borrow a bag and took a wristlet watch away with her, pawning it for Is. Nothing was known against the girl and her parents were very respectable. Defendant was ordered to come up for sentence if called upon within six months. James Conroy, a second offender for drunkenness, was fined 10s, and four first offending inebriates were dealt with. For failing to comply with a maintenance order in respect to his wife, Robert Q. Bresano was sentenced to two months' imprisonment on the understanding that when £11 Be arrears and £1 Is costs are paid he will bo released.
