CLEARING UP EAST AFRICA.
DIFFICULTIES OF COUNTRY. ENEMY FORCE DWINDLED. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Rccd. 5.6 p.m.) CAPETOWN, July 15. Speaking at a luncheon given by the Mayor, Brigadier-General E. North said the campaign in East Africa, where there had recently been no movement, might continue for perhaps two months. It was country such as would facilitate the escape of the enemy, whose force was estimated at about 100 Europeans and 700 Askari*.
