GREAT SYDNEY FIRE. RAILWAY MATERIAL BURNED. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 10.10 p.m.) SYDNEY, July 15. A fire broke out in the Eveleigh railway workshops this morning. The outbreak was extinguished, but it is believed thai the damage will approximate £20,000. A serious feature is that the fire destroyed a large building heavily stocked with truck covers and waterproof sheets for protecting rolling stock. These will be difficult to replace owing to the present scarcity of materials. COLD WEATHER IS SYDNEY. (Reed. 10.10 p.m.) SYDNEY. July IS. The weather is bitterly cold. Rain is badly wanted, and the winter outlook is unpromising. TANK FROM. WEST FRONT. (Reed. 10.10 p.m.) MELBOURNE. July 15. A battle-scarred tank, fresh from encounters on the battlefields of Franoe, has been landed in Melbourne. It will bo utilised for recruiting and war loan demonstrations. COMMONWEALTH GOLD YIELD. (Reed. 10.10 p.m.) MELBOURNE. July 15. The Commonwealth gold yield for the half year totalled 641,911 ounces of fine gold, compared with 727,995 ounces, for the corresponding period in 1917.
