SOLDIERS FROM INDIA.
THREEFOLD INCREASE. MEN FROM NATIVE STATES. Australian and X.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 7.25 p.m.) SIMLA. July i. Recruiting figures indicate that recruits enlisted in India during the fourth year of the war will be nearly threefold those enlisted during the previous year. Every province shared in this development. The Ptmjaub maintains pride of place, but the other provinces made a splendid response. Burma has given invaluable assistance. The contributions from the native States prow every year, by the continual tapping of new sources of men. The recruiting organisations have become so powerful that it is confidently believed they will be capable of meeting all demands.
