Very little wheat is offering and it is mostly below milling quality, for which some growers aro not willing to accept tho | Government rate, but prefer holding. There is not much inquiry for potatoes from tho North Island, where tho markets aro evidently being supplied from Melbourne. The price is still nominally £G at country stations, and tho only deliveries being made at present are of potatoes stored at tho railway sheds. » The state of the paddocks and loads prevents delivery from the farms. There has been some demand for oatsheaf chaff for ilie snow-ahected districts, and. this has been supplied out of store, as cutting in tho country has been suspended.
