A submarine looted and sank the Norwegian steamer Vindeggen in American writers on Monday, and also sank the Norwegian steamer Hendrik Lu id. The Washington correspondent of the United Pre<>s states that it is practically certain that a submarine-chaser sank a submarine on Saturday off the Virginia coast. The chaser suddenly encountered a submarine with the periscope showing. The vessels circled each other for several minutes at a hundred yards' distance. The chaser then made a dash over the submarine and dropped a depth bomb. The periscope disappeared, and oil rose to the surface. The explosion lifted up ihe chaser. It is reporter] that three German sailors' caps were found in the vicinity.
