TELEGRAPHIC DEPARTMENT.
NEW APPOINTMENTS MADE. [BY telegraph—press association.]
WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Changes in the telegraphic staff have been announced. Mr. E. A. Shrimpton, at present telegraph engineer for the Wellington district, succeeds Mr. J. Orchieton as chief telegraph engineer, -while Mr. T. Buckley, chief electrician, becomes director of telephone services. Mr. A. Gib'os, telegraph engineer for Auckland district, comes to Wellington as assistant-chief telegraph engineer, and is succeeded at Auckland by Mr. C. S. Plank, telegraph engineer at Christchurch. Mr. H. L. Cummirgs, assistant-engineer at Wellington, w'j succeed Mr. Shrimpton as telegraph engineer for the Wellington district. Mr. Z. C. Gage, assistant-engineer at Auckland, will succeed Mr. Plank at Christchurch.
