THIRD EDITION. ACTIVITY IN MACEDONIA.
SUCCESSFUL BRITISH RAID VIGOROUS AIR OFFENSIVE. (Received 1.35 a.m.) A. and N.S.—Beutor. LONDON, May 9. An official report from Salonika states: The British raided trenches near Lake Dorian on the night of May 6 and reached all their objectives. They bombed dugouts, blow up " pill-boxes," and killed a number of Bulgarians in hand-to-hand fighting. Five of our aeroplanes on May 1 bombed Hudova, 15 miles north-west of Lake .Dorian, and dromes in the Vardar Valley. They destroyed a large shed. Bombs fell among 12 aeroplanes on the ground. We bombed the same aerodrome on May 7, scoring direct hits on workshops. Bombs fell close to 16 aeroplanes on the ground. We bombed Drama aerodromes on Wednesday morning and afternoon, causing considerable damage. All the bombs burst among the hangars and aeroplanes. All our aeroplanes returned.
