i COUNTY COUNCIL LOSES £565. [BT TELEGRAPH. PRESS ASSOCIATION,} • -■ .... TVOODVTLLE. Friday. A- woman, Martha Hutchins, formerly clerk of the Wpodville County Council, pleaded guilty to-day to charges • of stealing sums aggregating £565 from the council. The total defalcations were over £1200, but they * were reduced to the amount state by the deduction of suras appearing in books as having been received, but which have not been received. The books are in a most chaotic state, rjid have caused the Government auditor great trouble and weeks of . hard work unravelling them. . The accused was committed to the Supreme Court at Wellington for sentence. Bail was - allowed, self £300, and two sureties of £300 each.
